Fay's Sweet Potato Casserole

This is a recipe Fay taught me as a kid and we baked it together at Thanksgiving. Though I have made it a million times, I never remember the recipe. So I am posting it here since I keep loosing the recipe. The recipe has gone through many revisions, and is always still changing!

Ingredients:

Casserole:
5 cups canned yams in syrup
1/2 stick butter softened
5 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 can sweetened condensed milk

Topping:
1 cup chopped pecans
a couple of tbsp. butter, melted
brown sugar to taste

Directions:
1.  Preheat oven to 350
2. Combine all ingredients and put in greased in a casserole dish
3. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes
4. To make topping, combine melted butter, pecans and brown sugar until tastey.
5. Spread topping on casserole after it cooks for 30 minutes.
6. Reduce oven temperature to 325.
7. Cook at 325 for 20 more minutes
8. Add marshmallow topping, broiling for a couple of minutes.
