Camping Point Lookout
Trip #2 for our newly purchased tent was to Point Lookout Maryland . We didnt get to the site till around 6 or 7, so we set-up camp, started a fire, and started to cook. I liked this camp site because each site was secluded and isolated by tall shrubbery, but this made for lots of bugs. As you pull up in the car, its hard to get out because they are so busy attacking the car mirrors because they look like animal ears! They try to ram it to death.
Point Lookout was actually the location of a Civil War Prison Camp that held as many as 52,264 Confederate soldiers. The Fort is still there, but we didn't get to tour it because of the rain the second day. The camp is also right along the water and you can canoe there if the weather is nice. We will have to return to do all of the things we didn't get to because of the weather.
A rather fine job of tent assembly |

Main Course- Chicken wrapped in bacon, on a bun. Grilled Corn.
Dessert- Some more S'mores. We also tried making them with coconut flavored marshmallows, but it wasn't as good as expected.Dinner |

My hunger for s'mores is still not satisfied.... I can't wait to make more. Next time I want to get more creative with the S'mores, like maybe adding a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup or a banana slice. S'more recipe suggestions anyone?
