Back to Black

Everyone knows I'm a pretty plain girl and wear mostly black all of the time anyways, but this is a different type of black that I'm referring to... I'm talking about my new vinyl record player!

I am now the proud owner of a record player and 3 new records: Dave Matthews Band (Big Whiskey), Postal Service,  & Elton John.  It is so fun to listen to them. Even though I have these songs in my iTunes, I find it so much more fun to put a record on!

I acquired my records and record player while on a date with Shawn. I took him to a record store, Melody Record Shop, near Dupont Circle, to buy records for his player at home. He bought a Queen record and The Doors. He just happened to have an extra record player in his trunk- an old gift for a friend who he never got to give it to. It is now happily housed in my living room,  and I can listen to it while cooking dinner, cleaning, or if I just need some good old fashioned dance time! I can't wait to add to my record collection.
