Tackling hobby #1: Learning to play the piano
"The piano is the social instrument par excellence...drawing-room furniture, a sign of bourgeois prosperity, the most massive of the devices by which the young are tortured in the name of education and the grown-up in the name of entertainment." ~ Jacques Barzun

I have recently decided that I want to learn to play the piano. I played the piano when I was a kid. I remember my sister and I taking turns at piano lessons, while the other played with toys in our loft. Our piano teacher was probably way too patient with us, because I remember more than once yelling out that I didn't want to practice. We had a large white piano. I asked mom what ever happened to the piano, now that I want to learn again (not that I could fit a piano like that in my apartment), and she said she sold it because we didn't want to play anymore. But of course you don't want to play when you are 5! I want to play now that I'm older.
Anyways, I decided to purchase a teach-myself-piano lesson. The program I bought contains DVDs, CDs, and booklets to teach yourself how to play. It's called "Learn and Master: Piano."
Maybe one day I will be a master piano player!
Next step: Obtain a piano/keyboard I can actually learn on!

Gee whiz, I hate to say I told you so but I TOLD YOU SO. I guess you just have to grow up to find out you would really like to do something!
